One of Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s key election promises of a $1,080 per person tax cut for low to middle income earners could be delayed. The promise would allow taxpayers earning between $48,000 and $90,000 a tax rebate of up to $1,080 for the financial year ended 30 June 2019. Formal bureaucratic processes could mean that Federal Parliament won’t sit until late in June which could result in the tax rebate not being available for income tax returns lodged from 1 July 2019.
